Alhamdulillah, ๐ ๐๐๐ง ๐ง๐ฎ๐น๐ธ on ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐, ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ, marked the official launch of ๐ ๐๐๐ง ๐ฉ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฏ๐ฌ โ our shared pathway to strengthening the future of the Indonesian Muslim community in Toronto.
MIIT, Masyarakat Islam Indonesia Toronto, was born from a simple dream. It began in the early 1980s when a few Indonesian Muslim families in Toronto came together to learn about Islam, to nurture faith, and to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood under its light.
Today, MIIT has grown into the oldest and most active Indonesian Islamic organization in Canada. No longer just a small gathering, it has become a homeโa home for hundreds of Indonesian Muslims who continue to grow, serve, and connect.
With the spirit of Ukhuwah (brotherhood), MIIT continues to provide spiritual guidance while preserving the values and warmth of our Indonesian heritage. And as we look ahead, we dream of building something greaterโa shared home, an Islamic center for all Indonesian Muslims in Canada. MIIT is our lightโa light that shines upon our hearts, even far from home.
Alhamdulillah, today MIIT operates from a rented center, but challenges remain. The space is temporary, the land is limited, and our community keeps growing. More families, more programs, more activitiesโfrom Islamic education and workshops to social, cultural, and community events.
Our needs are expanding. We need a place thatโs truly oursโa home to stand for generations, a home for our children and their children after them. Imagine a center we all call home. A place of peace and strength, a place to learn, to share, and to grow in faith. A place where we gather in Ukhuwah, true brotherhood. A place that preserves our Indonesian Muslim identity and values here, in the heart of Canada.

Our community has grown to nearly 400 members, and our rental centre can no longer support our worship, education, and community needs. Itโs time to dream bigger:
